WinterWKND

This Friday we went partying a little bit in West Palm Beach. There was one guy, Jesse, who had come to visit Nata & Jukka from Finland. We all gathered to their place for some pre-drinking and then went to Loft, which is a nice nightclub on Clematis street downtown WPB. We stayed up later than planned (again), and were asleep probably around 4-5AM.

On Saturday I made some nice brunch to Mira & Juho and we were just relaxing, chilling and being funny until the afternoon. Then we decided that we had to get some fresh air and go outside.

Mira had promised to go to see her cousin, so me and Juho decided to take a walk. I almost only wore my shorts, but luckily decided to change my pants on, as it was the coldest day of the winter. The temperature was barely 17 and the winds were over 140km/h thanks to the Jonas winterstorm that came to the US East Coast.

Juho got a good idea to go walking to a small nature park, and so we went to Lantana Natural Preserve in Lantana. The park was very cute and we walked around it probably in 30 minutes. Afterwards we went to get some Finnish Karelian pastries from Scandinavian Polar Bakery. We ate the pastries and enjoyed views of Lake Osborne. Man the pastries tasted good!! πŸ˜›

We had planned a relaxing evening but then Mira called and she had got free tickets to the NHL game Florida Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning. So we drove to Sunrise to see the game. It was a lot of fun, and much nicer to watch the games now that the ice hockey hall was fully booked!! The atmosphere is completely different to the pre-season games. I guess a lot more people have started going to the games as the Panthers have played very good. Now they won Tampa 5-2. Good game!

On Sunday we drove the Floridian “lande” to Lake Okeechobee. We left the car and walked around and hang out there couple of hours. The place was beautiful and so peaceful! I don’t remember that I would have had this kind of feeling while in Florida. The atmosphere was more like in Finland, quiet and a lot of trailers parked alongside the lake.

Also, the temperature this weekend was extremely cold so I guess that’s also why it felt like a Finnish spring. Thank God it’s getting warmer again this week and we’re on the better side on 20 – that’s my kind of winter weather πŸ˜‰

Sunny Regards from Florida!!
